Who We Support
About Podversations
At Podversations, we recognise how important it is to be part of a community, and in doing so, give something back to the community.
We have decided to support these three organisations - in each case, we applaud their commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of people across Australia, particularly in regional Australia.
94.7 The Pulse
94.7 The Pulse is Geelong’s favourite community radio station, providing a voice to the people through a diverse range of programming from multicultural shows and current affairs to special interest programs and local events coverage.
Their aim is to be the voice of the Geelong community through addressing local issues, concerns and events, and provide a platform for our youth, elderly, local businesses, not-for-profits, and multicultural individuals and groups to share their passions and interests without the noise and commercialism of typical mainstream radio.
94.7 The Pulse runs on the generosity and hard work of 150 volunteers, and four staff members. While primarily designed to serve Geelong, the Surf Coast and the Bellarine Peninsula, the studios are in Geelong, the service area of the station extends to Lorne, the outskirts of Colac, the outskirts of Ballarat, Werribee and anywhere in between.
Visit the 94.7 The Pulse web site for more information or to subscribe.
WARF Radio
WARF (Women's Australian Rules Football) Radio was established in 2014, initially to cover matches in the then Victorian Women's Football League. Fast forward to now, and WARF Radio is operating as a complementary broadcaster for the AFLW - the AFL's national women's football competition.
Presented and produced totally by volunteers, under the leadership of founder Peter Holden, WARF Radio is providing a platform for new and emerging sports journalists and broadcasters to develop their craft, while providing valuable, non-commercial coverage for the fast-growing AFLW competition.
You can listen to games each week via the AFLW app available for both iOS and Android devices or via the Listen Live link on the WARF Radio web site.
The One Box
In a lucky country like Australia, it’s really sad that so many families can’t afford to put fresh and nutritious food on the table. With thousands of children going without, The One Box felt it was their social responsibility to try and make a difference.
The One Box program is an initiative that provides Australian families in need with a free weekly box full of fresh fruit, vegies, milk and bread over the full school year.
Each week, their team hand packs fresh fruit and vegies from Aussie farmers along with bread and fresh milk. Working with local community groups to identify families in need, then then deliver those boxes to hubs for collection by the families.

The Darcy Effect
The Darcy Effect is a program that was set up to support the families, particularly those with small children in remote parts of Australia. Their mission statement is:
- Building awareness of rural and remote medical services, such that those communities can more easily access the support they need though the Rural Paediatric Health Hub.
- Provision (or supporting the provision of) appropriate first aid training and resources for rural and remote communities.
- Providing “care packs” for rural and remote families who receive medical care away from their place of residence.
- Advocacy for rural and remote medical services and education.

Sober In The Country
Sober In The Country is a grassroots not-for-profit leading radical social impact across rural Australia by changing the narrative around booze through tailored peer support, straight talk, advocacy and the #OK2SAYNO movement.
Shanna Whan is the rural woman, CEO, creator and founder behind nationally respected grassroots charity Sober in the Country Ltd. She was recently announced as the 2022 ''Australian of the Year'' Local Hero winner for her relentless leadership and community service.
In 2015, Shan almost lost her life to a twenty-five year battle with alcohol addiction. But she made it out alive, with the help of her husband Tim, despite the enormous barriers and odds. The couple decided to dedicate this second chance to 'be the change' that was so desperately needed in the booze-worshipping culture synonymous with the outback.
Far from being anti-alcohol; the charity focuses on social inclusion, and putting mates before alcohol.
